Aerobic - lates for Kids

This class will combine Yoga, Dance and Pilates to get the kiddos moving! We will listen to fun music as we move like animals, act out stories and jump around with props such as rythm sticks. Class will end with mindfulness breathing exercises. 

Arts Explorers

Explore the world of art in fun and nurturing environment while helping your child develop fine motor skills and learn about colors, shapes and so much more. Each class, families and their young ones will create a guided craft to take home and feel proud of!

 

Breastfeeding Support Group

This is an informal group of Breastfeeding Moms, Veteran Breastfeeding Moms or Moms-to-be who are considering breastfeeding. Led by a CLC, this is a safe space for discussing the joys and challenges of breastfeeding. Topics may include what to expect the first few days, latch and positions, pumping going back to work, among many others. Feel free to come with any questions, advice or just to be around like-minded Moms. Check calendar for dates & times!

Cantos y Cuentos En Español

Learn Spanish through music, dance, and imaginative play. Families with children ages 0 – 5, native Spanish speakers or not, are always welcomed.

Circle of Mom's

Circle of Moms is a warm and supportive group for moms and babies (birth – 18 months). Join us to get help navigating this transition to new motherhood if you are a first time mom or if you have recently welcomed a new baby to your family. Find support, resources and friendship. This group is especially helpful for identifying early signs of postpartum anxiety and depression. Issues such as feeling/nursing, sleep, relationships, your own new identity as a mother and many other important issues will be part of our ongoing discussion. Circle of Moms meets the 2nd & 4th Monday’s of the month from 10 am – 11:30 am. 

Cultural Connections: Support Group for Immigrant Women

Cultural Connections is a support and networking group for women of all nationalities and backgrounds. The group was created as a resource that caters to the unique challenges and needs of immigrant women. It is also open to U.S. born women who are interested in helping and meeting people from other cultures. Our meetings offer a safe space where a variety of useful topics are discussed and participants can practice English. At Cultural Connections, women make new friends and they are welcome to bring their children, who can benefit from socializing with other kids in a safe and fun environment. Diaper Bank Pick-Up

Free diaper program on the third Wednesday of each month from 12-3 pm – you can fill out a registration on site and will need to provide a birth certificate and proof of residency in Middlesex County – your child needs to be under three- once they turn three they are no longer eligible – we have newborn through size 6 available and you receive 50 diapers per month per child.  

Domestic Violence Support Group

This group is here to provide support, educate oneself on domestic violence, boost one’s self-esteem, and to create a safety plan. Join this empowering group of women and be a part of a circle that cares, a circle that shares. 

A children’s group will be offered in conjunction with the Women’s Support Group so bring your kids. Light snacks and beverages will be available to all in attendance. Join us every Tuesday from 6:30 pm – 8 pm at the FWC (635 Main St).

Fingers & Feet

Toddlers love songs, finger plays, nursery rhymes, and moving their bodies in new ways. In this group we’ll sing old favorites and learn new ones. Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 9:30-11:00 AM. 
(ages 1-4)

Infant Massage

Come learn about the benefits of touch for infants with licensed massage therapist Maureen Nelson.  0 – 6 months 
(Parents with infants -siblings welcome!)

Kids in the Kitchen

Kids in the Kitchen encourages you and your child to prepare no-cook, easy to make, healthy food using fine motor skills (cutting and measuring), gross motor skills (mixing and serving), and all your senses. Each class is designed around a theme: colors, numbers, season, senses, holidays, or a country. Come have a snack or sample new seasonal foods. Check the calendar for dates!  Ages 2-5 

Moms of Tots: Support Group for Moms of Toddlers

Moms of Tots is a supportive group for moms of toddler’s ages 18 months – 3 years old. During this new season of mothering, Moms of Tots will give you the support and resources you need to be a great mom to your child. The group meets the 1st and 3rd Monday’s of the month from 10 am – 11:30 am.

Movin' and Groovin'

Move and Groove to fun tunes for an hour once a month – we will dance, sing and march around the space using fun props.  Great class for acting silly and getting some energy out before nap time!  Ages 1-4 are ideal.  Check calendar for date. 

Open Playgroup

The FWC’s open playtime. Feel free to come in with your children and spend some time playing with toys, have a snack, and participate in a story or craft. Friday’s 9:30-11:30 am – Ages birth -5

Parents' Time Out: Parent Art Projects

Art Support and relaxation group for parents. Childcare provided. See calendar for dates!

Plant Luck: Vegan Pot Luck

Join us once a month at Community Health Center (675 Main Street, Middletown, CT)  to share a vegan Plant based dish- we circle up and share what we brought, including ingredients – and then have a meal together – check calendar for date.  

Power Yoga

Free your mind, stretch your body and renew your spirit. Learn to listen to your body as you move with the breath. All levels, age 12 and up are welcome! Every Wednesday at the FWC (635 Main St) from 4:30 – 5:30 pm and every Friday at Vinnie’s Jump & Jive (424 Main St) from 4:30 – 5:15 pm. 

Resilience in Action: Lunch and Learn Series

Join us as we explore ways to cultivate health and well-being in our daily lives!  Together We Can!  Adults only.

Sensory Seekers

Come to Sensory Seekers and get your hands dirty!! Every class has several different sensory experiences appropriate for toddlers and bigger kids too.  Always non-toxic materials and adult supervision.  It’s a perfect activity that you don’t have to clean up!!  Smocks are provided but dress in play clothes just to be safe – held twice a month from 10-11 am – check monthly calendar for dates.  Ages 1-5

Story Time

During this open playgroup, children of all ages will listen to a variety of stories each session, with play breaks in between. Each session will center on a theme. Check the calendar for dates & times! 

Middletown Diaper Bank

We are a New Haven Diaper Bank Member Agency. If you are a Middlesex County resident, you may be eligible to receive a free pack of diapers each month. Space is limited. Call Nat Holmes at 860-347-6971 ext.  3662 to learn more.

We are accepting new applications for our Diaper Bank program! Please note that your application being accepted does not guarantee you a spot on our list.

Both new and previously enrolled children must show proof of identity. Each child can receive a packet of 50 free diapers per month.  If you miss three months in a row you will need to re-apply.  Additionally, you cannot receive diapers from past months if you missed a month or two.   New children over the age of 3 cannot be enrolled.
